One of the aspects that most impressed me arriving at Chimera is the effort put into developing a proper tool stack and workflows for the developers, like automated Jenkins builds or in-house package repositories for easy access to shared code. Moreover good coding practices are expected and encouraged within the existing timing and resource constraints.
Personally, it has been a great experience so far. Starting with a well organized onboarding, for the past two years I’ve been continuously learning and growing in both skills and responsibility. I was always made to feel respected and valued, and enjoy working alongside my teammates in an atmosphere of teamwork and mutual support.
I also really like how Chimera has adapted in recent years, adopting a hybrid workplace model that allows me to manage my time between home and the office, and expanding to a truly international team with people from many nationalities working both on-site and remote.
I’m a Senior Environment Artist who’s been working for Chimera for seven and a half years. I enjoy crafting worlds, telling stories with them, building pipelines to speed up the environment’s creation, and guiding other 3D artists.
I am always interested in new techniques and technologies and happy to share these with the team. The main thought that comes to mind after all those years is: it’s work, but it feels like home. The whole Team, from leadership to interns, are like family. They are always there to support each other through good and bad times, always there for a laugh. They accept each person as they come, with all facets.
The team events at Chimera are incredible because every team member from around the globe comes together and meets in person. It’s an excellent opportunity to bond with the whole team. The talks and workshops are all super exciting and further my knowledge in different areas. In addition, there is always delicious food and some fantastic gaming sessions happening too.
